Please provide examples of how you have shown passion and had positive impact in your career
(Approx 100-300 words)

I have demonstrated passion and impact by making a deliberate career pivot based on conviction rather than certainty. I transitioned from a legal role into what was then a small, experimental “jetski” project because I believed in its potential to create both commercial value and meaningful opportunity for others, despite the absence of formal authority, structure, or certainty.

By setting clear goals, prioritising execution, and mobilising cross-functional teams, I helped grow the initiative into an independent business unit. Since joining, the programme has scaled more than tenfold and, in the first half of the year alone, supported over 9,000 entrepreneurs in generating income and building sustainable micro-businesses.

I lead through influence rather than title, enrolling stakeholders through clarity of purpose, disciplined follow-through, and an optimistic but results-driven approach. Under pressure and constant change, I remain focused on delivery, adapting quickly to obstacles while maintaining momentum and accountability.

This journey reflects my belief that meaningful impact comes from courageous choices, consistent execution, and the ability to inspire others by turning vision into measurable outcomes.

About Rising Star

The Rising Star Programme, operated by BlackBark Productions, has been established for the purposes of recognising, celebrating and connecting young talented people who have a capacity for achievement and success and who contribute in an inspirational manner to the future of our nation. The qualities that elevate Rising Stars to the top go beyond performance and technical excellence. Rising Stars are polished, brilliant individuals with tremendous promise and great talent who excel for reasons that go far beyond their technical abilities alone.

Talented people make things happen, are highly committed to achieving goals, innovate very rapidly, and create a great deal of value (for companies and/or themselves) when their talent is spotted and harnessed.

The Programme aims to be a significant and sustainable vehicle through which organisations, our country and our continent can identify and nurture these “organisational and national assets” who are set to play a key role in shaping the future of our country and our continent.
