Passion and impact underpin every decision I make as Founder of SecretEATS.

From inception, my objective was not simply to host dinners but to create an ecosystem that supports chefs, producers and creatives. Over thirteen years, SecretEATS has provided a platform for both established and emerging chefs to experiment, build audiences and generate revenue without the financial risk of opening permanent restaurants. Many collaborators have gone on to launch their own ventures or expand their reputations through exposure gained at our events.

During lockdown, my commitment to the hospitality community intensified. I pivoted the business to digital dining experiences, raising funds for charity partners and generating income for chefs and suppliers at a time when the industry was in crisis. Through these collaborations, we connected audiences in South Africa, Europe and Asia, demonstrating that community can transcend physical borders.

My passion also translates into strategic partnerships that amplify impact. Collaborations with big brands and organisations have created premium platforms for local talent while strengthening the commercial sustainability of the brand.

Beyond business performance, each SecretEATS event incorporates a charitable giving component, contributing to social causes and reinforcing responsible entrepreneurship.

I lead with energy, clarity and optimism, even under pressure. This has enabled me to build a loyal community of returning guests, long-term corporate partners and trusted collaborators. My passion is evident not only in growth but in the sustained relationships, economic opportunities and cultural value created through the SecretEATS platform.

About Rising Star

The Rising Star Programme, operated by BlackBark Productions, has been established for the purposes of recognising, celebrating and connecting young talented people who have a capacity for achievement and success and who contribute in an inspirational manner to the future of our nation. The qualities that elevate Rising Stars to the top go beyond performance and technical excellence. Rising Stars are polished, brilliant individuals with tremendous promise and great talent who excel for reasons that go far beyond their technical abilities alone.

Talented people make things happen, are highly committed to achieving goals, innovate very rapidly, and create a great deal of value (for companies and/or themselves) when their talent is spotted and harnessed.

The Programme aims to be a significant and sustainable vehicle through which organisations, our country and our continent can identify and nurture these “organisational and national assets” who are set to play a key role in shaping the future of our country and our continent.
