Please provide examples of how you demonstrate systems thinking and sense-making ability in your career (Approx 100-300 words) | |
| I demonstrate systems thinking and sense-making by understanding how multiple interconnected parts of a business interact and deliberately aligning them to achieve outcomes. Leading the Personal Shopper Programme at Takealot requires integrating the business merchant platform, marketing, supply chain, and finance to ensure operational success. I regularly step back to see how these moving parts influence one another and use that perspective to solve complex challenges. For example, when retention became a concern, I connected insights from performance data with supply chain pressures. Certain high-value, aged stock was difficult for retail to clear. Using the existing platform, I enabled top-performing Personal Shoppers to claim the products through a 100% off coupon. This solution leveraged existing infrastructure, rewarded performance, created additional value for participants beyond commission, and helped the business clear inventory efficiently. This experience demonstrates my ability to think systemically, consider cause and effect, and integrate multiple functions to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes across commercial, operational, and social dimensions. |
